Not another 24 hour race?

A while back we carried news of SIMBA’s Nutcracker 24 hour race (Dalby Forest, 23/24 August). Well, it’s not going to be a 24 hour race any more, having been stripped down and put back together as a two-day enduro event. Six hours on Saturday, four on Sunday, most laps across both events wins. Or just do one or the other, your choice.

SIMBA are proud of their no-frills, grass roots bike racing with “proper courses”, and the Nutcracker follows the trend. The Dalby course will be between six and nine miles, there’ll be free camping from Friday night and if ten hours of riding isn’t enough for you the organisers are planning a non-competitive night ride on Saturday night…

You can download an entry form here. It’ll also be on www.simbaevents.co.uk shortly, or email [email protected]. Or we dare say that sending an SAE to Simba Events, 48 Lilac Avenue, York, YO10 3AT will probably do the trick too.
