We’ll freely admit that we’ve come into this one a bit late. But the beauty of TrackLogs’s competition is that it’s running every day until Christmas Eve…
Allow us to explain. TrackLogs supply all manner of high-tech navigational gubbinses, including GPS receivers and PC mapping software. They also sell map data to go with the software and route guides that you can upload to a GPS and follow. All clever stuff, and during December they’re literally giving it away…
Here’s how it works. Every day at 12 noon since 1 December (see, we said we were late…) TrackLogs has or will put a grid reference up on its site. Whoever gets to the grid ref first, takes a picture of themselves there wielding a bit of paper with “TrackLogs Digital Mapping” writ large upon it and sends it to Tracklogs wins, appropriately enough, some TrackLogs Digital Mapping – a 100km x 100km chunk of it worth £75, no less.
As if that isn’t enough, at the end of the competition whoever got to one of the secret spots in the fastest time wins mapping of the whole of Great Britain on seven CDs worth £250. And that’s got to be worth pedalling for…
The locations are apparently evenly distributed across the country so everyone’s got a reasonable chance of winning. And even us telling you about it ten days in isn’t the end of the world – there’s some unclaimed ones still up. All the details are on the TrackLogs site – happy hunting!
