The penultimate round of the UCI World Cup DH in Val di Sole saw a tense battle between the top ranked riders, but Brit Marc Beaumont surprised everyone (and probably himself) by taking the win. Gee Atherton had to settle for third after qualifying the fastest. Greg Minnaar split the pair of British riders finishing second.
There was more success for the British representation too, with Steve Peat, Danny Hart and Josh Bryceland finishing inside the top ten.
