Pro Bike: Tracy Moseley’s Trek Session 9.9 photos + video

At the London Bike Show last week Tracy Moseley’s Trek Session 9.9 was proudly on display at the Madison stand, drawing a lot of attention as you might expect.

The bike got internet forums in a bit of a lather when it was first revealed halfway through last season, but finally it’s available to the public as it joins the rest of the bikes in Trek’s 2012 range.

Tracy’s bike differs subtly from the stock offering. She runs the same Fox suspension (40s on the front and DHX RC-4 coil shock), but it’s built up with Shimano Saint cranks, brakes and rear mech, with a Gamut Union Jack bash guard and chain device.

Wheels are Bontrager complete with Bonty treads. She’s got some special hubs, laser engraved with Trek World Racing wings.

Carbon treatment for the Session

What makes the Session 9.9 so special is the OCLV carbon fibre frame with a carbon EVO shock linkage and a whopping 210mm of travel at the rear wheel. The frame is reinforced in the key areas as you would imagine for a bike that is sure to get pummelled down some rough rocky tracks, with lots of oversized tube profiles. The rear triangle features a 12×157 ABP DH axle/pivot.  Cables are routed inside the carbon frame for cleaner lines and minimised snagging potential.

Critically, for tuning the bike to different courses, the geometry can be adjusted, with the head angle ranging from 62.5 to 65.4 degrees.
