Giant’s carbon fibre XTC 29er is the company’s latest bike and in this video some of the development has been revealed.
It seems a bicycle range isn’t complete this season without at least one 29er offering. Giant has already bowed to the demands of those mountain bikers wanting a 29er of course, with the Anthem X 29er which we got a close look at last year.
There’s already a hardtail 29er too, the aluminium framed XTC 29er. But it seems that wasn’t enough, and it’s readying for release a 29er carbon fibre hardtail. The carbon frame version will undoubtedly share much in common, in particular the XC geometry. But there the similarities end, as this video reveals.
In this video Giant Factory Off-Road Team rider Carl Decker puts a prototype through its paces, and shares some insights into the latest development from Giant.
Other manufacturers are also busy developing carbon hardtail frames designed to accept the larger wheels, such as Santa Cruz with its yet unnamed hardtail frame.
More on the new frame soon…
