We expect that most people are familiar with CTC, the national cyclists’ organisation. It does a lot of very useful stuff for all sorts of bike riders, but it’s expanding its activities in the off-road arena that’s of most interest to us. CTC Charitable Trust is the charity arm of CTC, and “promotes cycling strategies and activities to create healthier, more accessible and sustainable lifestyles.” The Trust is recruiting for staff, and a couple of the posts could be right up your street…
First up its looking for a Senior Cycling Development Officer – Off-Road/Mountain Biking. The job involves leading CTC’s portfolio of off-road activities with partners including youth groups, cycle sport, outdoor organisations, local and national government. That one’s a full-time job – the Trust is also looking for a part-time (three days a week) Campaigns Officer for off-road and rural cycling. This is a pretty big area for CTC, and whoever gets the job will be responsible for improving the rights of off-road riders and mountain bikers.
Both jobs are based at CTC’s Surrey headquarters. Interested? More details can be had at www.ctc.org.uk. If you want to apply for either of them, send a CV and covering letter stating your current salary details to Sue Cherry, CTC, 69 Meadrow, Godalming, Surrey GU7 3HS (or
email it). The closing date is 24 February, 2006.
