Enduro / Epic / Marathon races are great fun, but often organisers are a bit wary of confronting riders with seriously technical terrain after a long day in the saddle.
Having scared ourselves sh*tless trying to follow the wheel of organiser Jo Hayward from Summit Cycles before, we know it won’t be the case with this Raw Experience sponsored one. For a start it’s the first event description we’ve seen that has direct links to Dave Lee Roth and cider websites!
The event uses the pick of the trails in the Dyfi forest near Machynlleth in West Wales, on the 19th of May 2002 and promises “singletrack or rough one-line doubletrack for around 90% of the downhill. Did we mention that there will be around 4500′ of downhill? That’s right, that yin/yang rule dictates 4500′ of climbing as well, but don’t worry, it’s not a race. 95% of the route is on hard surfaced trails, so you shouldn’t end up pushing a filthy bike through miles of mud if it’s wet.”
For more details go check out the website, it looks like another in the growing collection of “Welsh event that you shouldn’t miss”. Anybody fancy buying a timeshare holiday cottage?
