It might currently be fashionable to have a crack at riding the entire South Downs Way route both ways inside of 24 hours, but for many, and we include ourselves here, doing the ride over two days seems a lot less daunting.
The Votwo South Downs Way Challenge takes place on 25/26 April and challenges riders to complete the 106 mile trek from Winchester to Eastbourne in two days. Following the South Downs Way path, the route is mainly off-road and there’s some 10,000ft of climbing packed in between start and finish.
Riders will enjoy full route sign posting, group riders, check points every 15 miles, food, hot drinks and water at each check point, kit transportation to the overnight stop, bike mechanics on standby for any mishaps, event medic and Sunday morning breakfast.
