TransWales 2010: Gore Bike Wear sock giveaway

A pair of £12.99 Alp X Socks up for grabs

To celebrate the Gore Bike Wear TransWales powered by Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport stage race starting this weekend, we’re going to give away a pair of these lovely Alp X Socks courtesy of the title sponsor every day during the event.

The Alp X Socks are anatomically designed to provide the perfect support for your feet when riding. The multi-panel socks are positively packed with the kind of technology you just don’t get in other socks, such as an Achille’s tendon back and Anti-shock heel protection. Furthermore, there’s protective padding for the Malleolus and tribial tendons, a shaped toe with an anti-friction seam looped outside and foot arch support

In the shops they’ll cost you £12.99, but you can get your feet into a pair absolutely free just by taking part in the challenges we’re going to set you each day the race is on.

All we want to know is, if you were taking part in TransWales, what bike would you choose? Put your suggestions forth in the forum thread below this article.

Thanks to www.gorebikewear.co.uk for the socks.

TransWales 2010

The Gore Bike Wear TransWales powered by Mercedes-Benz Vito is now in it’s fifth year. Riders will race over a whopping distance of 500km and climb over 15,000m allowing all competitors to test themselves fully and experience the best Wales has to offer.

At this year’s event there will be five special stages. These will include night riding, a predominantly climbing stage and also a vertically assisted timed run (mainly downhill!). or the 2010 TransWales we will run specific hill climbing, descending and general trail riding stages – so that we can really find out who the best all-rounders are. We will keep the excitement up to the very last minute by running the final special stage on the last Saturday back at the finish location in Builth Wells.

Read the action from the first stage of the race here.
