Torq Fitness has many strings to its training bow. Individual coaching and nutrition products are the best know, but Torq also runs group coaching weekends. This year’s first is designed to fit in with the Saab Salomon Mountain Mayhem 24 hour race – it’s a “peaking weekend” on 18-20 June 2004, so just a week before the big event. The idea is that you book now, receive a six-week training plan and follow it. The plan culminates in the Torq weekend, which is your last blast before chilling out in the few days before heading to Eastnor.
The weekend is based at the Bridges Youth Hostel on the Long Mynd, Shropshire. It’s a fine part of the country for riding, featuring plenty of steep hills and other such usefuly training aids. Nearby Eastridge Forest will also be used for the riding sessions.
Torq personnel on the weekend will include Torq supremo Matt Hart, sports psychologist Hillary Norris-Evans and Cliff the chef. The weekend will feature a combination of on-bike training and discussions on psychology, nutrition, tapering and all manner of other useful things.
Cost is £145 which includes everything – accommodation, food, Torq energy drink on tap and a limitless supply of Torq bars. You just have to get yourself to the hostel. More details (and on-line booking) on Torq’s site or email [email protected]. Or call Matt Hart on 0845 128 4312.
