Traditionally a festival of corduroy and cotton-duck, this years York
Rally has been grabbed by the scruff of the neck, shaken up, injected with spirit-of-Youth
and revitalised.It’s part of the National Cycling
Festival 2000 on the Knavesmire in York from the 23-25th June (so it clashes with
Red Bull). It’s a fiver to get in, but the York Rally bit still free.

Each Feature Area is geared up to guide newcomers on how to get the most out of their
cycling
BMX Area
Watch the pros do it in style on a dirt jump course
Children/Family
Lots of fun, including Unicyclist Juggler, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Bungee
Jumping, Fun Fair, Helium Balloons, Simulators. Great.
Exhibition
Leading names from the cycling world will be displaying latest bikes and products/accessories,
including Raleigh, Saracen, Madison and Moore Large
Health & Fitness Area
Talk to the professionals about fitness and general health and well being
The IPC Big Top
Bringing you the big names in cycle fashion ñ from cycle shorts to full on downhill
gear! Alternatively, take some time out in the video lounge with top titles on show
including Duke, Chilli Video and other key labels
The IPC Party
Dance Saturday night away at the IPC party at Brubakers in Blossom Street, York.
Hear live Djs, watch a stunt show by the MAD Trials Display Team and witness a few
special surprises! Youíll need one of the special flyers being given out on the day
to claim your free drink at the party and there will be 2 VIP passes up for grabs.

Minster FM
Yorkís local radio station will be entertaining the crowds, running competitions
and broadcasting live from the event. Our experts and celebrities will be on hand
to talk to visitors from this stage
Mountain Bike Trials
Saracen and Team M.A.D. ñ Giles Wolfe and Richard Johnson will entertain with
their leaping on and over cars, wheelies, endos and bunnyhopping
Mountain Bike/Bicycle Test Track
See the racing, dirt jumping and ride a range of different bicycles in our Test
Track Area.
Outdoor Pursuits Area
Cotswold Camping will be on hand to offer guidance on exploring the great outdoors
Record Breakers
Jez Avery will attempt to break a multitude of world records live from the show
on his mountain bike. And break a multitude of bikes, no doubt.

Get advice, technical and maintenance information from the team at Shimano, Finish
Line and Park Tools
The Raleigh Arena
BMX dirt jumping with Pashley & Diamondback and amazing Raleigh Trials by
Ian Cooper. Cycle speedway demonstrations and a fantastic opportunity to watch a
round of the British Championship Speedway series
Technical Area
Help and guidance from the Technical Team at the CTC and IPC magazines MBR and
Cycling Weekly Learn how to stock your workshop, what tyres to use, maintain your
bicycle, suspension forks, brake set up, improve your performance and technique,
set up for racing etc.
Live Framebuilding
Dave Yates of M Steel Cycles will be building frames at the event and is available
to answer any questions the public may have
Wheel Building
See and talk to the experts building and maintaining wheels.
Tuition/Masterclasses
Learn how to ride your bicycle and improve your skills under guidance from the
experts. Special womenís tuition and road safety guidance for adults and children
