The great Bikemagic Pyrenees holiday

Who enjoys a bit of big mountain riding?

After the success of our Exodus/BM trip to Morocco, we’ve teamed up with Exodus once more for a fantastic trip to the Pyrenees and we’re expecting it to be a real cracker.

The Pyrenees are already a popular destination for mountain biking and with a combination of long descents and lung-bursting climbs it is the ideal place for real all-mountain riders. As Exodus say, “Sweep through high meadows and lush beech and pine forests. There is plenty of singletrack to test experienced mountain bikers.”

There’s also the opportunity to spend a full day downhilling using the cable car up to Superbagnères, and for the Tour de France fans you also have the option of attacking this famous climb on two wheels.

A free day gives a chance to try out one of the many other activities available, including tandem paragliding.

We’ll be based in our own private lodge in the Luchon valley where all the meals will be cooked for you and the beer comes chilled.

Ride Profile

Here’s what Exodus has to say about the Pyrenees trip:
Category: Off-road. Grade: D
A trip with a definite singletrack and downhill bias – typical climb each day 300-600m (mostly on vehicle-width tracks), typical descent 1000-1200m (up to 4000m+ possible) – wahoo!. Most days include a transfer to the start, but rides are unsupported. Rides become harder as the week progresses, though most technical sections are optional. Good variety of riding surfaces.

Good level of fitness and off-road experience required – a good trip for intermediate mountain bikers. 5 guided rides, average 40km/day, 95% off-road.

But that’s not all

Marin is coming to the party with a bunch of bikes. You have the option to ride one of their award-winning full suspension bikes for the duration of the trip.

Choose between the fantastic Quad suspension system with the Mount Vision and Rift Zone, or one of the Tara longer travel bikes (now with the Quad link) with the Attack Trail or Wolf Ridge.

And not just that

Also included in the deal is a pair of Hind riding shorts, a brand spankers (yet to be seen in this country) Bikemagic riding shirt and a pair of Dainese knee pads.
