Recently Radio 4’s Today programme held a poll to find out what the country’s favourite (and least favourite) invention is. The idea was to celebrate 150 years of the British Patent Office. You can find the shortlisted inventions on the Today website.

The programme received 5,000 votes and the results will be announced tomorrow at 7am. We’re not at liberty to divulge the winning invention, but we reckon it’s well worth tuning in if only to hear the editor of BIKEmagic sounding like an inarticulate fool trying to espouse the virtues of the bike…
