Forestry Commission Scotland’s new network of bike trails at Strathmashie forest, Laggan, near Aviemore is coming on apace, with the trails expected to be ready for action in October. The new network covers the full spectrum from technically challenging to beginner-friendly, but all the trails promise spectacular views of Loch Laggan, the Monadhliath mountains and the Cairngorm National Park.
As well as the trails, FC Scotland has announced that the area will feature a new bike centre. Base Camp will be run by Gail and Lindsay Carruthers, who will be offering bike hire and repair, showers and of course food and drink.
While the trails are some way off finished, the photos show the sort of thing you can expect. Make a note in your diary for October…
