St Andrews Day and Night Enduro – 30th November

On the 30th November Innerleithen MTB Racing are hosting an extremely exciting looking race, called the St Andrew’s Day/Night Enduro. The event will start off with practice on the morning of the Saturday, later the racing will start and continue into the evening, which will mean a decent set of bike lights are a must.

Innerleithen MTB Racing is delighted to announce Alpine Bikes as the headline sponsor for the upcoming St Andrew’s Day/Night Enduro being held at Forestry Commission Scotland’s 7 stanes Innerleithen mountain bike trails at Traquair Forest.

Alpine Bikes continues its association with supporting grass roots mountain bike racing in the Tweed Valley. The Multi-Stage Day/Night Enduro is an exciting format for mountain biking and involves four special stages throughout the day and into the evening.

With practice allowed on the Saturday morning, this is certain to be a physically demanding day in the saddle. As with all Innerleithen MTB Racing events, this will be a relaxed race where competitors ride between special timed stages with their mates, swapping stories of the stage just completed and those yet to come.

Special stages are mainly downhill XC routes, with some climbing included. With a maximum time allowed of four hours to complete the course, only the special stages are timed. The first two stages involve some excellent technical singletrack, well away from the waymarked routes.

These stages are then repeated once darkness falls, so good lights are highly recommended. Duncan Nisbet of Innerleithen MTB Racing said; “This is our final event of the year and the last before the launch of the Scottish Enduro Series next year.

The support from the riders for our Enduro events has been phenomenal and that is what has given us the inspiration for the National Series. This Day/Night Event is a great way to end the season for organisers and riders alike.” Further information and details on how to enter can be found on the Innerleithen MTB Racing website here.
