We featured these Sombrio Septre shorts in our Xmas advent calender, and we thought you’d like to hear how they performed in the saddle too!
We already said “They are dubbed as freeride shorts and can certainly stand some hammering out on the trails, but we think they are way more versatile than just for freeriding. They look cool on the cruiser with sandals, and down the beach too! ” But with winter here we’ve taken to wearing them with leg warmers or tights on cold days or risking all with bare legs when the sun’s shining.
We like the baggy fit and the longer leg length which means that there’s no way they’ll get caught round the back of the saddle like shorter legs can often do. The fit around the waist is generous and there are Velcro adjusters to allow the waistband in or out to fit around what you’re wearing that day.
They look good worn like hipster jeans and certainly get the nod from freeriders for styling and are a flattering look for a women’s shape.
The fabric is tough yet surprisingly light and supple, allowing full freedom of movement whilst pedaling and haulign the bike around. The lining is super cool in camo designed mesh for wicking and comfortable. There is no padding in these shorts but we liked the choice of chosing our own under-shorts or lycra padding.
The build quality of these shorts is great, with top notch zippers, two front pocekts and a zipped rear pocket, the crash proof construction will last you for years
