RockShox’s long-running SID suspension fork (it was first released in 1997) has been updated for 2011 with new travel options and new graphics.
The SID was given a major update in 2007 and has continued to evolve in recent years, but for 2011 a 120mm version will be available alongside a 80-100mm model. Also new on both forks is a 15mm Maxle Lite option and a tapered steerer tube is also available.
Weight has always been a principle concern for the designers behind the SID, and it’s no surprise to hear weight has been saved on the 80-100mm fork, down to 1.34kg (2.97lbs). Internals on both forks is still a Dual Air spring with BlackBox Motion Control damping and with PowerBulge lower legs and 32mm stanchions.
To give the forks a fresh new look there’s new decals, and the fork can be matched to SRAM’s X.O groupset.
Price TBA.
