Somehow Orpheus Productions’ first downhill film, Focus, managed to pass us by. The likes of Dirt Magazine, Gravity Slaves and Descent World rated it highly, though. Now Orpheus has announced the sequel, re-Focus. According to the producers themselves, “where Focus was rough, raw and in your face, re-Focus is polished [and] shot in High Definition.” Certainly the trailer exudes high production values – you can see why they haven’t bunged it on YouTube…
Re-Focus was shot over a period of nine months and features all of the European rounds of the UCI World Cup series, the World Championships from Fort William and several other selected European races. As well as pure race footage, there are sections showcasing riders who make a refreshing change from the usual names – Ivan Oulego Moreno (apparently for the first time ever in a film), Fabien Pedemanaud, Mike Skinner (no, not that Mike Skinner), Paul Aston, Alex Bond, Team Q-Bikes, Marco Milivinti and more.
It looks (and sounds) very promising indeed. Re-Focus goes on sale on 3 December – visit www.focusthefilm.com for the details.
