The opening round of the SCU MTB cross country on the 16th April has unfortunately had to be postponed and moved to the 7th of May.



A catalogue of conservation issues and groups surround the change as more and more pressure was being made on us to shorten and change the course, ironically to areas which would suffer more from the effects of errosion!



The last straw arrived today when we were told we could’t use one of the agreed parking areas as a start/ finish and we had to make the decision to either have a half baked first round or move it to somewhere more accomodating.



The new venue is likely to be near the village of Ormiston in East Lothian. The Council, who are the main land owners have no objection to the event taking place as it will highlight their exsisting cycle way on which the course will run.



Please pass this information on to all and we will send out details of the new location etc hopefully at the end of this week.



Apologies to all who have had to make special work arrangements to attend the first round.
