There have been rumours of a new brand from Patrick Morewood (previously of Morewood Bikes fame) for some time, and finally we have seen the first bike from his new venture land into the UK.
We had a sneak-peak at the Pyga OneTen29 last week at The London Bike Show and we liked what we saw: clean lines and welds, proven suspension platform and overall a frame that oozes quality (Morewood has the reputation to back up the looks).
Well the new bikes will be brought into the UK thanks to R53 Sport – the distributors of Labyrinth, Massi and ICE products.
Here’s the press release:
R53 Sport are pleased to announce that we have just secured the distribution of Pyga Industries in the UK.
Pyga is the new brand from frame designing legend, Patrick Morewood and co-founder of Leatt, Mark Hopkins. Patrick’s frames have always been about having a relaxed geometry that keeps the riding fun and confidence inspiring.
Pyga is the new generation of bikes with out of the box thinking. There are currently 2 models: A 110mm rear travel 29er (OneTen29) and a 120mm rear travel 650B (OneTwenty650) with their latest model carbon hardtail (Zero650C), becoming available later in the year.
All Pyga models include the latest technologies to enhance the riding experience further, they are fast on the racetrack and yet super fun on the trails.
Patrick Morewood, founder at Pyga Industries is looking forward to the new partnership “R53 Sport are the new generation of distribution companies in the UK, with great technical and commercial understanding and above all a fantastic customer service, and we’re confident that they’re going to do a magnificent job”
Craig Groves of R53 Sport said “We are really excited to have Pyga Industries in our portfolio of brands and we are looking forward to working with Pat and Mark in growing Pyga in the UK. Pyga fits really well with R53 Sport highly engineered and quality products and fun brands too”.
This is a very exciting time for Pyga, R53 Sport and all UK riders.
Stock will be available from March 2013. Please come and see Pyga bike frames on our stand at The Bike Place Show at the end of January (Trade only).
