Quick fire round: what’s the second-fastest land animal in the world? That’ll be the Pronghorn antelope, capable of running at speeds of 61mph and sustaining such speeds for longer than a Cheetah.
Denmark-based Pronghorn Racing has chosen to name its range of wheels, frames, seatposts, stems and handlebars, with a focus on lightweight, high performance and durability, after the speedy animal.
All products are precision made by low quantity manufacturers using some of the latest technologies available. The products are then tested in state of the art industry test machines and by top notch riders for real world durability.
The company’s carbon frame is made using a monocoque construction with oversized and profiled tubes adding stiffness where needed. Integrated cable routing along the top tube contributes to clean lines, as does the integrated headset.
The wheels, of which we’ve got some on test and will report on soon, range from carbon rimmed lightweight wheelsets to more reasonably priced models, such as the 1.57kg (3.56lbs) MTB Disc wheelset. Made around 7075 aluminium hubs with sealed cartridge bearings, welded rims with 28 spokes front and 32 rear with triple butted spokes, they’ll make a great upgrade to any bike.
And we’ve got a pair to for one lucky BM reader to win in our latest competition. Just head over to the comp page and answer the easier than easy question to be in with a chance.
