Round 3 of the Premier MTB Series, incorporating the NPS XC, Short Track racing and the Trek 6-4-2 Enduro takes place this weekend at Sherwood Pines, Mansfield. The course for Saturday’s NPS has been designed by Alan Verney of local race promoters Shokwave Racing, with the help of Nick Craig. It’s a six mile loop and we’re told that conditions are dry and fast.

Also on Saturday will be the Short Track racing, plus a free race for under-12s at 5.30pm. Sunday see the Trek 6-4-2 enduro over an extended nine mile course, and Go-Ride coaching sessions for under-18s.

Want to make a weekend of it? There’s free camping by the start/finish area, and plenty of family-friendly activities at Sherwood Pines – leisure trails, visitor centre, adventure playground, the “Go-Ape” high ropes course, café and even a bike shop…
