Good old fashioned fun comes to the Orbital Cycling Festival with the announcement of two fantastic MTB events – the, now legendary, DMR Pump Track Challenge & a new pro-rider shootout, the DMR Duel.
Naked Racing, Head Honcho, Chris Roberts will be hosting both events and said ‘We’re really excited to be taking the DMR Pump Track Challenge to Orbital and look forward to seeing some new faces take on the challenging Bikeparkitect track that was first seen at the London Bike Show in January. I’ve seen the DMR Duel course and that will be an awesome showstopper with jumps, tunnels and stairs. I can’t wait to get started!’
There are race categories for Pros, 17+ Open, Women / Girls and 10 to 16 year old Rippers. Entry price is £12.50 plus your Orbital pass (day or weekend).
There will be prize money of £400 for both rounds of the DMR Pump Track Challenge on Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th July. For the pro riders DMR Bikes have put in a very generous £750 prize pot.
The track, located centrally in the Paddock Expo, will be used throughout the weekend for rider skills workshops hosted by Cognation, promoting their wonderful work in delivering mountain bike trails and infrastructure in South Wales.
Need some more dirt? The Orbital cross race, Dirty Critter, runs on both the Saturday and Sunday around the Goodwood Motor Circuit perimeter track and takes in tarmac, unmade tracks and gravel traps. Suitable for cyclocross and mountain bikes alike.
