Event organisers Open Adventure have just announced the four dates for their 2011 Open 5 Series, 5-hour races in which you must dash to as many checkpoints as you can on your mountain biking and on foot. Checkpoints mean points and more points means prizes.

• Sutton Bank, North York Moors – 9 January
• Kirby Stephen, Northern Dales – 6 February
• Bakewell, Peak District – 6 March
• Grizedale, Lake District – 3 April
