A forthcoming film about Scottish track champion Graeme Obree will start shooting on 15 November after the lottery-funded Scottish Screen stepped in with an emergency cash injection. The production team was due £500,000 from Scottish Screen upon completion of the film, but now they’ll be getting a big chunk up front so work can begin.
The funds are in the form of a loan, however, and the film still needs to find £900,000. Producer Peter Broughan is said to be confident this amount can be raised whilst filming goes ahead.
