Kate Betts – the number three ranked female master’s rider in the UK is now being supported by Marin and Whyte Racing UK. Hailing from Porthcawl in South Wales, 35 year old Kate has, despite only riding for two years, taken the female masters ranks by storm.
For 2007 Marin and Whyte will supply her with kit and an Alpine Trail and Whyte 19 to choose from. She’s certainly made an impressive impact on the MTB scene, when last year she won the Forest of Dean Enduro, round four of the Trek Marathon Series and the XTERRA UK Enduro race.
Commenting on her impressive results, Kate added: “My results and times have improved dramatically during the last 12 months, and I’m committed to improving on all of my results this year.”
“I was encouraged to race as I’m extremely competitive and thrive on a challenge. I started racing in April and went on to win the Dragon XC series by September 2005”.
In her first appearance in Marin/Whyte colours, she got off to a flying start with a 5th and 6th in the British Mountain Bike XC Series and Trek Marathon Series opening rounds respectively.
