New Cycle Systems Academy courses available

London training specialists Cycle Systems Academy have announced two new courses and funding streams in partnership with Havering College.

New level two and level three courses are now available, which include the UK’s first workshop on Shimano’s Di2 groupset.

The level two course covers:

Working safely in a cycle maintenance environment
British Standards relating to the sale of new bicycles
Understanding customer service requirements
Frame and fork technology and headsets
Principles of gear systems
Principles of braking Systems
Principles of cycle hubs, wheels, tubes and tyres
Wheel lacing
Wheel tensioning and truing
Stripping and rebuilding a geared bike and Pre Delivery Inspection

Dates for this ten-day course are ongoing throughout 2011.

The level three course covers:

Working in a maintenance environment (advanced)
Understanding customer service requirements (advanced)
Principles of people management
Principles of cycle hydraulic braking systems
Principles of cycle fork suspension systems
Principles of full suspension cycle systems
Principles of complex cycle wheel systems and advanced wheel building
Road bike advanced groupset set up and repair- including Campagnolo, Sram, Shimano
and Shimano Di2.

This new level 3 course starts in June and is then ongoing.

There is also a new Hub Gear and Brake two-day course sponsored by Sturney Archer, costing £200+ VAT, with dates available in July and November.

There is currently up to 100 per cent funding available for both VRQ training and for full apprenticeship schemes, including an advanced modern apprenticeship scheme at level 3.
