Team Giant Toyota Downhill riders Mark Davies and Lewis King, shared a win a piece at rounds 3 and 4 of the Muddyfox Downhill 2000 rounds at Combe Sydenham Countryside Park near Taunton. In very cold and wet conditions on Saturday Davies mastered the tricky 1.5 mile descent in 3:02.51. he was 2.51 seconds ahead of the Finnpeak factory rider George Atherton who at only 16 surely has a great future in the sport. The top three was rounded off by Be One master rider Steve Folland. On Sunday it was the turn of Davies team mate Lewis King to take the laurels, on a faster more flowing course and with the sun shining King stopped the clocks in 2:30.18 to beat Davies into second place by over 4.5 seconds. Reigning Muddyfox champion Matt Cable making his first appearance of the year after breaking his leg took third ahead of that youth rider George Atherton on his Finnpeak.
