More offroad added to ‘Hell of the North Cotswolds

Winchcombe Cycling Club and Cheltenham & County Cycling Club have announced they are running the“HELL OF THE NORTH COTSWOLDS 2002”. This is the 18th Birthday of this “Cycle Reliability Trial” but this year Marin / Whyte designer Jon Whyte and other local mtb’ers have made sure there’s more off-road than ever before.

The 50km and 100km routes both start and finish at Winchcombe in the heart of the Cotswolds and use a variety of quiet roads, white roads of various surfaces and bridleways. Any type of bike is allowed but according to Jon this is definitely the year to be on an mtb.

The event – which normally attracts up to 500 riders – is running on Sunday, 14th April. That’s on the same date as the cobble strewn Paris ‘Roubaix Classic’ road race that inspired this English race. Entry on the day is £7 but pre-entries are £6 and that includes a copy of the event map.

You can download an entry form at www.cc-cc.co.uk but for more information, please contact Brian Hayward.
