The first duathlon in a three race series takes place on Sunday 27 February and is held quiet town of Littleport, near Ely, Cambridgeshire.
A total distance of 42km is split into a 6km run, 30km cycle and a final 6km run. The 6km run course is a small loop of Littleport, using the back roads and out into the countryside and back downhill into Littleport. The underfoot terrain will be roads, established tracks and trails.
The bike course heads briefly onto the A10 before heading out into Fenland. It passes through the sleepy villages of Pymoor and Little Downham before returning to the uphill section of the A10 back to Littleport. The second run uses the same course as the first. This promises to be a quick course, although fenland windy conditions are almost definitely guaranteed.
The race is based at Littleport Leisure Centre where there will be essential facilities including changing rooms, showers, bar and cafe.
Eastern Counties Finance are the official sponsors for the Monster Duathlon Series, with a £100 price for the first male and female finisher. Race entry costs £30.
