After weeks of trying to catch our own tail we have now managed to update the marathon website (www.mtb-marathon.co.uk). Everything on there is now dialled in for the 2007 season. The training planner
has already started but you will have no problem catching up on it.

Some of the marathon riders have already made use of the online entry online entry system this is also fully functional and ready to process your entries. We have had a few riders who came across a shortcoming in our system in the way that it can’t give you the discount when you take part in both the EXPOSURE LIGHT BIG NIGHT OUT and the Spring Marathon in Builth on the 14-15th April 2007. It would be easier if you could enter these events by post. If not please let us know by email that you have entered both and we will reimburse you.
Merida Marathon on holiday
If you love mountain biking, if you love clean air and the challenge of tackling some proper climbs and some proper descends then this is for you – the Salzkammergut Trophy in Bad Goisern. This event has been in the Merida series for the last three years and has clearly been the highlight for everybody who has had the chance to go over there. We are proud to be working with our Austrian friends and have again put an interesting and cost effective package deal together. Please find the details including costs, dates and travel suggestions on our
Bad Goisern page. The Merida 100 team has been rather successful in the Slow Motion competition over the last few years where all the time of the riders gets added up and the slowest team gets rewarded. So come along and enjoy one of the four courses on offer. Check the event page for details and if you have any questions simply send us an email.
New 2007 locations and entry forms
Early indications have shown that the new Cumbria
and the Aviemore events are well liked. So if you are considering going to either of these it might be a good idea to get your entry in early. Talking about entries or rather entry forms. The 2007 entry form is now back from the printers and will be send out to our entire date base in the next few days. If you want to get hold of one of the forms and you are not on our data base then please send a SAE to: Merida Bikes MTB Marathon Series, Attn: John Lloyd, 5 Irfon Road, Builth Wells, Powys, LD2 3DE, UK.

MTB-Marathon / TransScotland Guidebook 2007
Our next project is to put the 2007 issue of the MTB-Marathon Guidebook together. As it looks at the moment the new issue will come out early spring and will be sent to our entire data base. If you are not currently on that list and you want to receive a copy (FOC) simply send your postal address to [email protected]. The booklet will be full of reviews from 2006, details about the 2007 events, tips and tricks from the world of marathon riding and details about the Chain Reaction Cycles TransScotland ’07.
Chain Reaction Cycles TransScotland ‘07
The entries for the Chain Reaction Cycles TransScotland ’07 have been going well and we are roughly 2two thirds full. That means there are still a few entries available. If you are interested in this challenging event on some of the best trails the UK has to offer then simply download an entry form from our event website www.mtbtransuk.co.uk
and send it together with your deposit cheque to the address on the entry form.
So far the solo entries have been really strong which should guarantee a rather interesting competition throughout the event week. Besides that we have been receiving entries from all over the world. So far we have competitors from Belgium, Germany, Italy, the USA and Sweden.
TransScotland Post
With the rather turbulent Christmas post we are not 100% sure that all entries have reached us. If you have sent your entry form through to us but you have not yet received your confirmation please let us know so that we can look into it from this end. All entries have been processed at this stage.
