Marin has never really properly catered for the DH market, but as details emerge about its new Team DH bike, that is set to change. The new model, still in development, has bagged two race wins on its first outing.
The Team DH has been developed by Marin’s Canadian-based riders and part of the final testing included the recent Canada Cup race in Quebec, where it scored two victories and overall in the pro category. Off to a flying start, then.
Former Canadian national junior champion and Marin development rider Andre Lecompte says: “The bike was a success from all angles. At first the guys though the head angle was a little steep but after riding it they said it was very good.”
“The reaction of the public and industry people was awesome – we never had this much attention in a race weekend. The graphics and colors were well received.”
At the heart of the new bike is an frame that draws on the Quake, and will be positioned above that bike in the range, with travel boosted to 220mm. It looks to use a modified version of Marin’s Quad-Link platform suspension setup inside a substantially reinforced frame. Not much else it known about the bike at this point, but expect more details to emerge soon.
