Dusk ‘til Dawn is a cracking event, and Marin agree, having decided to sponsor the Thetford based 12-hour endurance race once more. The organisers, Thetford MTB Club, will once again prepare a fast technical circuit that last year attracted over 600 riders – early expectations are for in excess of 800 riders when the event takes place this October.
The organisers – Thetford MTB Racing – struck a deal with Marin last week which will also see the brand sponsor the Thetford Winter Series from November through to February.
“Last year’s D2D was a real cracker and it gave everyone a buzz to be involved,” said Ross Patterson, head of Marin UK. “The Marin Winter Series is growing and we’re expecting it to be another superb event on the MTB calendar. May the best team win!”
The course is being changed dramatically, but don’t worry, it’ll be everything as good as the outgoing course, and better. The organisers are switching to the original site of Mayday Meadow in Thetford Forest, and cutting out a new ten mile course with four bomb holes and some fast singletrack. There is also going to be a new layout for the solo riders with a bigger and better pit area and it will be made an even more challenging ride.
Organiser Paul Hore commented: “It’s very exciting. We have got the strimmers out already! To have Marin on board again is fantastic news. And going back to Mayday Meadow is a great move. It was our original location and it will be the best ever D2D.”
Dusk ‘til Dawn will be held on the weekend of 6/7th October 2007.
