Lapierre has this week unveiled the X-Control Carbon. First introduced back in the summer, the X-Control is a trail/all-mountain bike featuring 27.5in wheels, a new FPS+ suspension platform and slacker and longer geometry. They’ll now offer two carbon fibre models alongside three aluminium bikes in the range.
The X-Control is the company’s trail/all-mountain/cross-country bike and as such gets 100mm of rear wheel travel paired with a 120mm suspension fork. The head angle is 68 degrees with a 73.5 degree seat angle, 610mm top tube on the size large and 435mm chainstays.
The FPS+ suspension design is a virtual pivot arrangement designed to eliminate pedal induced bob to produce an efficient pedalling bike. The carbon version features a smart looking frame, with internal cable routing and a rock guard on the lower section of the down tube. The rear triangle is made from Supreme 6 aluminium with a carbon front triangle.
The frame will also be compatible with Shimano’s new XTR Di2 electronic groupset and it’ll even take a stealth dropper post.
Here’s the official blurb from Lapierre:
The soul of the X-Control remains the same, but it now benefits from the latest innovative technology, to make it even more efficient:
● New geometry for 27,5’’ wheels
● FPS+ Suspension
● Shimano XTR compatible
● Compatible with telescopic seatposts
● Carbon front triangle – Supreme 6 Alu rear triangle
