Lake District bridleways open

Although there’s been a move to open rights of way in the lakes it’s nowhere near as comprehensive as the Peak District openings. Still, if you’re in the area anyway here’s where is open. Don’t be suprised to meet volunteer tyre scrubbers at the start points, so make sure your bike is clean to avoid any extra hassle.

Arnside – Bridleway through Holgates Caravan Site
Alston: Garrigill
Grange -Allithwaite, Road through Long Greaves Wood to Kirkhead Road
Grizedale Forest & Visitor Centre
Eskdale – Parsons passage bridleway
Broughton
The Row bridlepath
Red Nab – St Marys Church bridleway, Wray
For more information including grid reference start and finish points disinfect you mouse and head for the Cumbria council website.
If you’ve got any more information about newly opened trails in the lakes or anywhere else mail us and we’ll get the details up ASAP.
