The first round of the new Kona 24-hour Global Series gets going next weekend (27/28th August) at a new venue in Catton Park. We rode some of the course at the Enduro Plus way back in April, and loved all the singletrack. We’re told they’ve found loads of new trails in the area, so expect a 10-ish mile course, with a hint of climbing.

Team Bikemagic.com will be in attendance, with a sport men’s team. However, due to several reasons we’re one rider down. So if you really want to take part and couldn’t get a place or left it too late, you can ride with us. If you’re interested just let us know in the forum down below, and we’ll put all the names into a hat and announce the fourth rider early next week. We’ve no ambitions of race glory or anything like that, as long as you can find your way around the course without getting lost, you’re suitable. And if you can run, that would be a bonus – it would save me from doing the dreaded run/sprint/walk at the beginning.

We’ll be pitching up somewhere in the main event village, sharing a stand with our partners over at Shred. Make sure you say hi if you’re passing, we’ll have plenty of cake for everyone, and a ton of Bikemagic.com stickers.
