Australian-based Knog have a penchant for creating colourful and highly stylised products that stand out from everything that has come before them, and the new Boomer USB is the latest to continue that trend.
The new lights here are based on the Boomer LED front and rear light that we tested last year, the company’s biggest and brightest light to use the novel stretchy silicone wraparound attachment system that is something of a Knog trademark. Now the Boomer gets even smarter as gone are the two AAA batteries and in their place a USB plug.
Remove the silicone body (which keeps the light completely waterproof) around the light and the unit will plug into any available USB port on your computer, or a supplied adapter will charge the light from the mains. Burn time is claimed to be 4-hours on constant and 36-hours on strobe flashing. The Lumen output has been increased for the front light, now up to 55, while the rear remains at 30.
Available now in a choice of Black, Blue, Pink, Red, Translucent and White, the Knog Boomer USB will cost £33.99 for the front and the rear £31.99.
