Hutchinson United Ride at EWS #3

Mick and Tracey both raced their first EWS race this weekend and came out of it with good results!

Mick managed an excellent 14th position and Tracey came in 7th after finishing 4th and 5th in the two final stages. They were both up there with the enduro specialists and shredding the Les 2 Alpes dust with great enthusiasm. The racing was fast on the grassy alpine trails but the Hannahs got through the weekend with no mechanicals and only one crash each.

Mick Hannah looking pretty relaxed.

A special mention goes out to Jamie, one of the team’s mechanics, who also took part and finished at a good 156th place despite a chain breakage in the first and most pedally stage.

Fabien wasn’t able to race due to a broken wrist. He got some scans done on Friday because his wrist was still painful from the big crash in the Bratislava Urban Race and discovered a crack in his scaphoid. He will also be out of contention for the French Championships. He is waiting for a specialist to examine him and see if he needs surgery. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he will be back in full form soon.

Guillaume took a rest this weekend after having raced the French cup of Oz en Oisans last weekend where he got a 5th place. He was rather disappointed with such a result as a tendinitis in his left hand kept him from going for the win. But still, a 5th position in such conditions is a good performance. He will be more amped than ever to do well on the Polygon Air DH this Wednesday and at the French Championships in Auron this weekend.

The team probably takes the win for biggest truck.

Holly hasn’t been back with the team since Fort William where she broke her hand. She is doing everything she needs to do get back to racing as soon as possible. We also wish her a speedy recovery back on the Sunshine Coast in Canada.

The rest of the Crankworx week will see Mick racing the Hutchinson Dual Climb tomorrow. Then Mick, Tracey and Guillaume will be taking part in the Polygon Air DH on Wednesday and Mick will also maybe do the Dual Speed and Style and the Pumptrack Challenge. This should put him into great contention for the overall King of Crankworx award !!

We remind you that all you are invited to the truck inauguration on Wednesday evening (8 till 10pm). There will be drinks and something to eat and also a few surprises.
