Hunt Bike Wheels, a new British brand based in Sussex, has launched its first range with tubeless-ready, handmade alloy road wheels.
Hunt Bike Wheels first offering comes in collaboration with Mason Progressive Cycles, giving us the Mason X Hunt Four Season Disc road wheelset.
The Four Season Disc features disc-specific, 23mm, tubeless-ready alloy rims, adaptable front and rear hubs, the latter of which is available in 9-135mm, 12-135mm and 12-142mm, and a 9/10/11-speed compatible freehub.
The wheelset weighs in at 1,585g and also features Pillar’s triple-butted stainless J-bend PSR spokes and EZO’s full-contact sealed replaceable cartridge bearings. The wheelset will retail for £349.
Details of the full range haven’t yet been released, but the Mason X Hunt wheelset, which is due out in March, gives us an idea of what we can expect.
Hunt’s founder, Tom Marchment, has spent 12 years working in the bike industry and has a clear idea of what he wants from his products.
“Having tested tubeless extensively on and off road we know it answers many issues; noticeably improving ride quality, grip and puncture protection.
“We see tubeless tyres as offering the greatest benefits for year-round and winter-riding, when poor road conditions and punctures are a major issue, hence several Hunt wheels are aimed at this type of riding.”
The wheels will be available to order through local bike shops, as well as direct from Hunt themselves. For more information pay a visit to the Hunt Bike Wheels website.
