Some more dates for your diary. The Hope Race series comprises of four races that each take place at Lee Quarry, Lancashire.
Each race is a 2-hour affair, with a choice of categories, including Have-a-go Hero, Weekend Warrior and Racer – the amusing names should make choosing the right one for you a little easier we reckon. The Racers will start first, followed by Weekend Warriors and then Have-a-go Heroes, with a 10 minute gap between each start.
The series, sponsored by Hope Technology, Leisure Lakes, MaxGear and Ride On, begins on 19 April, and again on 4 May, 17 May and 31 May. Another series of racing is planned for later in the year but details are still to be finalised.
The course will be based around the existing Red route within the quarry, with a length of around 4.5km. Organisers say that each week they’ll try and add a little twist and variation to ensure the racing remains challenging for all.
There will be prizes and trophies for each category in every race from Leisure Lakes, MaxGear and Ride On, along with an overall Series prize from Hope. A ladies competition will be run in parallel (details to be released soon).
