The time of the Tour de France draws ever closer, and Energy Cycles and Club Rasio Mona of North Wales are offering the chance of some practical preparation. They’ve arranged a half Alpe D`Huez hill climb in Llanberis for you to put your hill-climbing skills to the time test.
The climb is taking place on Saturday 29th of June, the day before the Tour of Snowdonia. There’ll be a mass start on the (closed) main road into Llanberis, turning left up towards Fachwen then on up towards the hydroelectric damn of the electric mountain.
The event will follow TLI rules and there are a broad range of categories to cover all abilities. The entry fee isn’t settled yet, but will be either £5-6, payable when you show up. Registration is from 9am at the Heights Hotel, Llanberis, where conveniently there’ll also be changing facilities after the event. The race itself starts at 11am.
