For some the season is all but over, but for the Gorrick organisers, there still remain two rounds of cross-country racing, on Sunday 16 October and then Sunday 13 November.
This Sunday the penultimate round will be hosted at the very popular Tunnel Hill in Pirbright, Surrey. The organisers tell us that they will use a “mix of the arena on the West side of the byway and the steeper trails to the East side, including some never used before.”
Sponsored by Endura who will be handing out prizes for lucky number prize draw winners during the day, racing will kick off at 9am. These two races are individual affairs, not part of a series, so why not try the next category up if you’ve been tempted but afraid of the leap before.
And if you haven’t raced before, the beginner and fun categories are the perfect introductions. In the face of the current economic climate the organisers have fixed the prices. They also dropped the on the day charge for Juvenile and Youth categories, as well as the U10s and U12s. As usual there will be full facilities and a very warm welcome.
For added interest the Tunnel Hill Trolls will be holding a handicap sprint race in the afternoon at Classic 1, and Berks on Bikes will be holding theirs in the afternoon of Classic 2 – these are always good fun to watch.
