Staff at Evans Cycles’s Gatwick warehouse are currently filling a 20,000sq ft marquee with 5,000 bikes as well as tens of thousands of accessories and items of clothing ready for the opening of the retailer’s clearance sale.

“This year we’ve increased the size of the marquee by over 50% to cope with the huge demand from our customers,” explained Retail Director Mark Smith. “We’ve installed air conditioning, have an army of sales staff on hand and will be replenishing stock throughout the sale, making it a comfortable, quick and bargain-filled shopping experience.”

As well as ex-demo and shop-soiled bikes, there’ll be plenty of brand-new stuff too. “Being the biggest specialist cycle retailer in the UK gives us huge buying power,” explains that Mark Smith chap again, “so we’ve snapped up container loads of bikes from the big brands and are able to pass these on at big, big savings.”
