Eat curry, buy helicopters

As part of the RUSS APPEAL, we have created an event that should appeal to all – A CURRY NIGHT. In typical RUSS APPEAL style, we’ve “gone large” and reserved the entire venue for an evening of fun, prizes and of course, curry. The cost is a mere £20 a head for a two course meal (and it’s excellent as all the Chiltern mob will agree as we’ve been darkening their towels with our muddy lycra for some time now). Drinks are extra. The proprietors have generously agreed to cook the food at cost so all profits will be donated to the Air Ambulance through the RUSS APPEAL.

Now if great food and a top atmosphere are not enough to tempt you, Simon North (Chiltern 1XV member and all right top bloke) has twisted the arms of Renault and secured the following:

1 A Renault F1 Team official baseball hat signed by the current drivers Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso.

2 A Renault F1 Team official shirt signed by the current drivers Jarno Trulli and Fernando Alonso plus official test drivers Allan McNish and Franck Montagny.

(Not an F1 fan? This sort of F1 memorabilia does have value to collectors – Ebay is calling…)

3 A hot ride for one person around Donington Park Circuit in a Clio V6 255 road car driven by Renault F1 Team official test driver Allan McNish on Sunday, 26th October. The prize includes tickets for two people to attend the Renault World Finals race meeting which is taking place at Donington Park on the same day.

From his own company, Grovewood Public Relations, Simon has offered:

1 A mountain bike skills training lesson with Bren Divall. Two hours, one-to-one tuition on a trail of your choice in the Chilterns.

2 A supply of TORQ energy bars. A box of 24 bars specially developed for mountain bikers by training expert Matt Hart.

The details are: Kimble Tandoori Restaurant on Monday 11th August 7:30 start. Mail [email protected] to book your place.
The event is limited to 60 so it’s a strictly first come, first served (arf arf) event.

For more information on the RUSS APPEAL, please visit www.russ-appeal.org.uk. If you can’t make the curry night, please try and get along to the Trail Break-organised Ride for a Flight event on the 17th August. All the details are on the site.
