Deuter hydration pack range expanded

Deuter have just released several new backpacks for 2012, continuing to expand its offering to mountain bikers.

The packs are pleasingly well designed; with really nice fabrics used throughout giving even the cheap bags a quality feel. They’re packed with design features that help them perform better than most on the trail, and many are ideal for people who cross over into over sports (running, walking etc).

The Trans Alpine 25

This pack gets its name from events like the TransAlps, and is the pack to choose when you’re trekking across the mountains on a multi-day trip and need serious cargo capacity.

It’s packed with features for such riding including a map compartment easily accessible on the back, an Airstripes back panel, wide foam waist and sternum straps, two front pockets and compression straps.

Attack 20

A 20l pack the Attack has been completely revised and features a webbed strapping system to stash your arm and/or leg pads when you don’t need them on, for example when you’re winching your bike up a long fireroad climb in the Alps.

A PSA back system made using visco-elastic SC1 foam makes carrying a loaded pack comfortable for longer jaunts and inside there’s organised compartments for tools and other bits.

Compact 12 EXP

This is a highlight of the new range, the new Compact 12 EXP. It’s designed for hydration bladders (though Deuter don’t offer one and instead let you choose your own bladder) and has a neat side entry zipper – should making removing and replacing a full bladder infinitely easier.

There’s loads of pockets spread over the pack, the unique Airstripes split ventilation back panel, a helmet flap that tucks away into a pocket when not in use and the SL version has redesigned straps for women.

Race and Race X

The 10l Race and 12l Race X packs are designed to be lightweight and low profile with a simple design keeping the costs down, perfect for a couple of hours riding around Wales when you don’t need the most highly sophisticated bag.

There’s an Airstripes ventilation system on the back with a central channel encourage airflow and anatomically shaped shoulder panels made from mesh keep the pack well supported on your back.
