BM member Louis Foot is planning an expedition across bits of the Sahara. He describes the route thus:
“Arrive at Marrakech for the initial ‘road’ section to Ouarzazate through Tizi N’Tickha pass and onto Tazarine. The next section is the ‘desert’ section to the high dunes of the Er Chebbi, passing through the villages of Tarbalte and Oum Jrane, to great plains along the sandy Wad Bou Khechba and then onto Ziz river. leaving the Sahara heading north for the final ‘road’ section – west to Rissani and on to the Tineghir and the Todra gorges. And finally back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and Tickha.”
He needs to get clothing for the trip and is looking for advice and recommendations. He’s got a budget of £1,500 to cover the lot. He’ll need kit that’ll last the distance and deal with desert conditions day and night. We don’t know the first thing about what the dedicated desert expeditionary is wearing this season but we reckon several of you probably do. So share your wisdom in the forum…
