Current world downhill champion Danny Hart will top the bill at the Buxton Adventure Festival, October 20-21.
Hart became the third Briton in four years to take the men’s downhill world title when he scorched to victory in Champery last September with a run that’s become legendary for its bravery and finesse and also for Rob Warner’s increasingly, erm, excited commentary.
In the final slot of the festival, at 8pm on Sunday October 21, Danny will be interviewed by Anna Glowinski, presenter of ITV’s Cycle Show, designer of AnaNichoola cycle clothing and a useful rider in her own right.
By October, of course, we’ll know whether Hart has managed to successfully defend his title at this year’s world’s in Leogang Austria.
Festival organisers hope that Danny and Anna’s chat will be followed by a screening of ‘Won’t back Down’, Clay Porter and John Lawler’s long-awaited film about the career of Steve Peat. However, this is still to be confirmed.
All of which seems like a good excuse to give you another chance to watch that video of Hart’s 2011 world championship run:
The Buxton Outdoor Festival will also feature multiple British trials bike champion Danny Butler on Saturday October 20.
