Australian company Cranktip have released a pedal with a dual swing-arm design, which they claim will reduce fatigue, particularly on long distance rides.
The Cranktip pedal moves the foot 12mm lower and 16mm further forward in order to add leverage on the downstroke. This, we are told, increases power and efficiency, as well as reducing the riders heart rate when compared with a standard pedal.
Two potential drawbacks with the Cranktip pedals come in the shape of weight and price. The pedals are said to weigh-in at 700 grams, and will set you back $499 (US). Though Cranktip do offer you your full money back if you aren’t entirely satisfied with the performance on the pedal.
