As you’ll know if you read our update on the Giant NRS National Points Series, this year it includes an under 12’s coaching session at every cross country round.
Following on from what the organisers termed a successful first session at the opening round at Thetford, where 30 youngsters took part, the next session will be at round 2 of the series at Catton Hall near Lichfield on May 11th.
British Cycling’s Youth Development team are hosting each coaching session, and want to encourage all aspiring racers under 12 to come along get some coaching from expert riders under the supervision of qualified coaches. On the Saturday of the race weekend there’s a skills competition for the under 12s, and after that they can get tuition and advice
out on the course from elite riders from the Evans Cycles Racing Team. By 2pm the training and coaching session will be wrapped up and all the riders will have the chance to take part in a race to round it all off.
The session starts at 10.00 on Saturday 11th and costs £10. Places are limited, so if you’re interested then contact Michael Cowland of British Cycling for an application form and more information, call 01284 757098, or email [email protected].
