Cannondale Stem Recall

Cannondale has become aware of a potentially serious problem with CODA brand 1″ quill stems used on the following road bikes and sold aftermarket as CODA Competition 1″ road stems. These stems were made in Taiwan by J.D. Some have expansion wedges with poorly manufactured, oversize female threads. These oversize threads result in a poor fit with the stem bolt and may strip when tightened. If the threads strip the stem can rotate in the steering tube. This could lead to loss of control with risk of injury or death.
